commented Thuringia’s Prime Minister Dieter Althaus at the solemn ground-breaking ceremony for the new clinical building complex. "The new Medical Campus in Lobeda will shorten communication paths, rely on highly sophisticated technical equipment and provide excellent conditions for working and teaching. Patients will benefit from it as much as will students, doctors and nurses.“
Exactly ten years after the initial ground-breaking ceremony for construction stage I, this ceremonial act gave the go-ahead for Thuringia’s greatest building scheme in the coming years. By 2014 the clinical location in Jena-Lobeda is scheduled to create a compound of fifteen further clinics and institutes. Twelve more highly modern operating rooms, two lecture halls, seminar rooms and laboratories for clinic and fundamental research will be available. They will be added by 731 beds, including 60 for intensive care. One parent-child, one tumour and one heart centre will warrant even better interdisciplinary healthcare services within the clinical complex.
AJZ Engineering understands this order for complete planning of medical and laboratory equipment as an opportunity to shoulder and implement another challenging task for the benefit of Thuringia. The engineers’ team of AJZ Engineering GmbH has already been involved as expert planner in a scheme for a new building and general redevelopment of SRH Wald-Klinkum in Gera.
